Description
Summary:Over the decades, human communication has evolved many forms with the improvement of technology. With it, we have been able to convey messages further, even out into the reaches of space today. Long gone are the days of having to physically step out from your home to fulfil your daily demands. Technology has integrated so well in our lives that we are able to fulfil the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, a psychology theory that incorporate the hierarchy of basic human needs. With just a click away, food can be conveniently delivered directly right at the doorstep of homes, jobs can be completed remotely without stepping into a workplace, new social relationship can be fostered online as well as online dating to be a new channel for budding companionship. In a way, it has helped humanity to showcase their talents, capabilities and accomplishments without bounds with this state-of-the art technology bridge. With the digitalisation exponentially shaping our world drastically, demands for its greater speed and capacity are inevitable. Hence, one of the solutions to meet these demands is the antenna. This report thus looks into a specific antenna design with its ability to be fabricate at a lower cost through 3D printing that also facilitates a high frequency ideally at 28GHz, the Quasi Yagi-Uda antenna. An antenna that is linearly polarised with medium gain and end-fire directional radiation pattern. The Quasi Yagi-Uda array comprise of multiple element, while the rest directors can be driven using induced current by mutual coupling in between directors. The printed Quasi Yagi-Uda can be deployed in the ranges of High Frequency(HF), Very High Frequency(VHF) as well as Ultra High Frequency(UHF). Hence, this antenna will be able to fulfil the target of 28GHz.
