Description
Summary:Trees provide a multitude of benefits for urban society. As urban cities around the globe grow more densely, the risk of tree fall incidents and accidents grows exponentially as city dwellers live in closer proximity to urban trees. In recent years, multiple causalities caused by trees falling in various public spaces such as parks, which poses concerns for the safety of residents. Probabilities of the tree-related incident will continue to rise, as the Singapore government continues the push for increasing green spaces in the highly populated city-state. As the government plans to plant one million additional trees across the island, there inevitably will be an increased risk of tree-related incidents and accidents. Therefore, tree risk mitigation is of paramount significance, to ensure the population can safely coexist with more trees.
