| Summary: | This study attempted to find out the relevant time periods in agenda-setting process by comparing and correlating the Singapore press agenda with the public agenda on environmental issues. Specifically, two of the time periods, viz. the time lag and the optimal effect span, were investigated in this study. Time lag refers to the lead-time or the time delay between the appearance of an item on the media agenda and the subsequent adoption of it on the public agenda. The optimal effect span refers to the cumulative period in which the media agenda has the highest association (correlation) with the public agenda. |
