Description
Summary:This is the final report for final year project (FYP), titled “Semiconductor Laser Spectroscopy Measurement for Food Inspection”. This report seeks to show the probability in increasing the application of Quantum Cascade LASER (QCL) as an alternate light source for spectroscopy measurements in the food inspection or food analysis field. Two types of spectroscopy with different light source has been conducted on two edible oil samples to gather data that will be used for making comparisons to find similar features. The results went through processing for easier visualisation in the form of spectrums and similarity appeared as peaks in the same regions between spectroscopy types. The results concludes that using QCL as a spectroscopy light source can yield similar results as the other type of light sources which then highlights the possibility of utilising QCL in the related field in the future.
