Summary: | “Vanishing Roots” is an experiential tour design system that addresses the need for heritage education to start young, how it brings out the best in children and deepens classroom learning. The system aims to connect young students to the intangible cultural heritage of Chinatown by bringing them out of the classroom and into a heritage setting for a more immersive and deeper learning.
The Project is a personal homage to my childhood memories of visiting the museums as a primary school kid. As a kid, I’ve always been impressed by how stories were being told in the museums. These visits were some of the few things that excited me as a kid. However, as I grew up, talks about these cultural heritage topics seem to slowly diminish. Thus, I aim to explore the relevance and importance of Singapore’s Intangible Cultural Heritage to Singaporeans today, including existing and further possible ways of connecting Singaporeans to Intangible Cultural Heritage. |
