Thus, this research is trying to investigate the effectiveness of using an approach of manipulating the learning environment using Virtual and Augmented Reality Technology to act as a stimulus for Situational Interest. Therefore, this research aims to investigate if the use of Virtual and Augmented Reality Technology could increase students’ Situational Interest, improve their Self-Efficacy as well as improve their Academic Performance. The improvement is measured via quantitative methods such as Likert scale questionnaires that measure students’ Situational Interest and Self-Efficacy. Pre- and post-test were used to measure students’ academic performance. Also, qualitative data were collected via focus group discussion to provide more insights from the students with regards to this research’s objectives. The data collected have thus shown that there is a positive impact on students’ Situational Interest, Self-Efficacy and Academic Performance when learning in a Virtual and Augmented Reality technological enabled environment.
