Description
Summary:Ride-hailing has grown to be one of the most essential and integral market in Singapore’s private transport industry. It has revolutionized the way people travel and commute, bringing about an ease of convenience and plenty of time saved, especially in a fast-paced society like ours. Ride-hailing is done when a customer uses an application to “hail” for a local driver to take them to their destinations. Similarly, a private-hire driver uses a separate application to receive hailing requests from customers. As the Government has gradually relaxed Covid-19 pandemic measures, the demand for private-hire car services has increased sharply, yet the supply of drivers has decreased due to many of them terminating their contracts during the pandemic. Therefore, it is important for ride-hailing companies to seek innovative ways to retain enough drivers on the road to meet demand as well as engage new drivers to join. In this report, a ride-hailing mobile application with game and gamification for private-hire drivers was developed using Ionic-Angular with Phaser with the aim to retain and engage drivers. This report provides documentation on the requirement analysis, design, implementation, and system testing of the application.
