旗袍在新加坡是具有标志性的服装，并拥有丰富的历史和文化意义。然而，旗袍在这时期的身影非常罕见。在此期间，新加坡华族女性一般只会在庆祝华族文化的节日或特殊场合身穿旗袍。这即是说，旗袍如今成为了新加坡华族女性的特殊礼服，同时也化为本地华族女性表现华人性的普遍方式，所以旗袍如今具有标志华族文化和新加坡华族女性身份的象征意义。本文因此希望通过分析旗袍在新加坡的趋势和历史发展，以及探讨新加坡时尚、文化和社会在不同时代的相互影响，进一步探索旗袍如何演变成今日用来标志笼统的新加坡华族女性的符号。 关键词: 新加坡华族女性身份、旗袍、华人性、新加坡时尚文化、新加坡时尚潮流 The qipao or cheongsam has a rich history and cultural significance, thus it has been an iconic dress style in Singapore for many years. However, the qipao has become a rare sight on the streets. Today, the qipao is typically reserved for special occasions that celebrate Chinese culture and ethnicity, and is primarily worn by Singaporean Chinese women. Therefore, the qipao has become a performance of Chineseness, a ubiquitous symbol of Chinese culture and an identity marker for Singaporean Chinese women. As such, this paper seeks to address the qipao’s evolution into a generic marker of Chinese/Singaporean female identity by providing a detailed review of the garment’s trend in Singapore, and exploring the complex interplay between Singapore’s fashion, culture, and society throughout the different eras. This paper aims to shed light on the qipao’s significance in Singaporean history and culture, and to deepen our understanding of how fashion and dress reflect and shape social and cultural identities.
