Summary:This paper aims to study the relationship between the practice of skincare and women by relating it to the larger discourse on beauty ideals. The focus of the paper is to use Naomi Wolf‟s framework in The Beauty Myth (1992) in order to assess and challenge the narrative in the context of modern day Singapore. The focus of this study is a group of young women who all use moisturizer and other supplementary skincare products and how this practice is related to the overall discourse on beauty.
