Summary:Robots in the service industry have always been a novel and refreshing experience for customers. Modern artificial intelligence (AI) has developed far enough to be able to solve customer problems uniquely, providing valuable assistance to professionals in the service industry. This report documents the utility of the Misty robot as a concierge service such as those of in hotels. The project leverages Misty robot’s built-in functionalities such as image recognition, text-to-speech, and expressive display to provide comprehensive interaction in addition to image processing to collect vital information for hotel check-in. The project involves 4 main components: Misty robot as the customer front-end, a ReactJS Web Application for registrations, a FastAPI server with image processing capabilities as well as a MongoDB server as back-end persistence. This project aims to develop a framework for Misty robot to be used in concierge service with hotel services as a basic use case, with the potential to be deployed to other kinds of concierge such as restaurant front desk, wedding receptions, and event registration check-ins.
