Summary: | Hearing is one of the five main senses of the human body. As such it makes sense to explore ways in which we can use sound to our advantage. However, there are certain aspects of our current methods that make them less suitable. One aspect is the unpleasant nature of simply playing a simple frequency. Thus, it is important to find ways to generate more pleasant-sounding sounds during the exploration of such data. This paper aims to explore ways of recreating music notes, specifically that of a guitar in real life using advanced technology.
This study will explore the various techniques and methods, including replicating musical notes(more specifically from an acoustic guitar) sounds accurately. We will focus on analysing the sound characteristics of a guitar such as its harmonic content, timbre, and frequency spectrum, and how these can be recreated through technology. The study will also explore the boundaries that can be pushed through this digital recreation, which would normally not be possible in a traditional guitar. Finally, we will explore the potential applications of the generated notes, and explore different ways in which they can be interacted with, specifically with respect to geometry, and how we can use 3d space to introduce a novel way of interacting with sound and provide recommendations on possible directions for the future. |
