With the recent COVID-19 Pandemic, the study of disease modelling is more important
now than ever. Locations such as schools have been one of the key places that such diseases
spread quickly due to the number of students that are present on campus at a particular
point in time. Multiple studies have explored this topic of disease transmissions on-campus
with a focus on the disease spreading pattern without the understanding of the contact
patterns of the students in the school.
This report explores contact patterns of students staying on-campus in Nanyang
Technological University (NTU). This report investigates the trajectory data of students
following a timetable by which the students attend classes and socialize with other students.
Experiments show that students show greater number of contacts with students staying in
the same residential hall as them. It is also found that intervention strategies, such as
reducing venue capacity and restricting the number of students staying in a room, help to
curb infection spread on NTU campus. |
