Description
Summary:Since 1970s, lithium battery is known to be a powerful rechargeable battery that is placed in handheld devices to power them up due to its high energy capacity. Handheld devices consist of portable charger, phone and tablets. With technology advancement, the battery capacity keeps growing and lithium battery management has assumed greatest importance. Hence, the ideal solution is to create an integrated chip to ensure that the battery will be able to operate in the required voltage range regardless of the device. For this project, a buck boost converter integrated chip will be designed to supply a battery voltage range of 2.5V to 4.5V. The ability of the gadget to function for the battery voltage range is a crucial criterion for us. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) will be used to control the switches of the converter to determine the state of it to meet the desired output being set. On top of that, Digital to Analogue Converter (DAC) will be used with which the user can configure the output voltage via a serial port. The gadgets will be able to power on after the desire requirement has been met.
