The mobile robot is tasked to be able to navigate through different environments and successfully perform the tasks it is assigned for with varying equipment loadout. The purpose of this project is to further improve an existing prototype of the mobile robot in terms of ingress protection, size and mechanical functionality. A wide range of various sealing solutions will be explored and the suitable ones will be taken into consideration during the design process to work towards an IP68 rating. Moreover, the detailed design process will incorporate various engineering considerations and principles to develop a mobile robot design that is fit for today’s robotics standards and professionalism.
