In recent years, manga adaptations have gradually gained attention in the television and web series markets, especially after the success of several adaptations such as "Take My Brother Away" and "The King's Avatar." More people are now paying attention to manga adaptations and their development. In fact, this genre of adaptations emerged as early as the late 20th century. In the current era of the internet, the development of web series has provided new opportunities for manga adaptations. " The wanderings of Sanmao " is considered China's first manga adaptation, and it was created in 1996. This essay would examine the comic and cartoon versions of The wanderings of Sanmao by China author Zhang Le Ping. I would use the perspective of Text and Image Studies to understand. By analysing the characters, settings, and visual storytelling in both mediums, we hope to explore why China's first manga adaptation, "Sanmao: The Wanderings of Three Hairs," has been able to successfully endure and remain popular to this day.
