Description
Summary:An angle-selective surface (ASS) is a surface structure that permits the transmission of EM waves with a certain incident angle, but not at other angles. A design method of angle selective surfaces is to use multiple frequency selective surfaces superimposed. Previous designs have just realized angle-selective characteristics at a certain frequency, but the bandwidth is extremely narrow. In this thesis, the structure with wider bandwidth and simultaneous implementation of angle selection for TE-polarized and TM-polarized waves is designed. This thesis firstly presents the ASS structure obtained by superimposing double layers of frequency-selective surfaces. The structure can transmit TE-polarized waves incident vertically and at a small angle, and reflect TE-polarized waves incident at a large angle at 9.2 GHz-9.7 GHz. For TM polarized waves, the structure can transmit EM waves incident vertically and at small angles, and reflect electromagnetic waves incident at large angles at 9.3 GHz-9.6 GHz. In addition, this thesis further discusses the performance of angle-selective surface structures consisting of three layers of frequency-selective surfaces. The structure based on triple-layer scatterers enhances the angular selectivity of the ASS compared to the two-layer structure. However, its overall operating band is reduced.
