Description
Summary:This report introduces a solution for the real-time monitoring of fruit spoilage in households through the detection of ethylene gas level released by such fruits. By using the power of the Internet of Things (IoT), the project aims to develop a sophisticated monitoring system that not only automatically collects sensor data but also promptly notifies users when ethylene gas levels are over predetermined thresholds. The essence of the initiative is to ensure that the consumers can identify the optimal time for fruit consumption. Therefore, it can reduce the waste and promote healthier dietary choices. The development process includes the integration of sensors, a microcontroller, an IoT platform, and machine learning algorithms to create a comprehensive system capable of precise spoilage detection. Through the literature review, the project identifies existing methodologies in spoilage detection and highlight the potential for innovation. The technical framework of the project is elaborated in subsequent chapters, where we explain the details of the hardware components and software tools, the implementation process, and the resolution of encountered challenges. The project not only contributes to the academic discourse on food spoilage detection but also offers practical solutions for households aiming to optimize fruit consumption and minimize waste.
