Description
Summary:This panel explores narrative strategies in Virtual Reality and 360° video, focusing on essential components for effective plotting and immersive worldbuilding. Based on insights from recent projects, we examine methods for capturing and sustaining viewer attention in spherical and headset-based storytelling. A key point of discussion will be whether immersive environments should allow the viewer freedom to navigate and discover the narrative at their own pace or whether the viewer’s line of sight should be guided to support the narrative structure. Through selected projects and panelists, we will present and discuss varied approaches to the interplay between 360° immersive environments and narrative choices, highlighting their impact on audience engagement.
