Description
Summary:With the rapid development of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and increasing emphasis on environmental conservation, people realize that there are environmental pollution, limited resources, and economic sustainability issues associated with the used power batteries in these vehicles. In this context, recycling power batteries becomes a key step in creating a green closed-loop supply chain and promoting a circular economy in the new energy vehicle sector. To evaluate the industry’s green closed-loop supply chain, this study aims to develop a performance evaluation model that looks into the engineering, economic, and environmental dimensions of power batteries for recycling. Therefore, this research work investigates the power battery recycling in the closed-loop supply chain using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE). In this study, through the analysis of the battery recycling closed-loop supply chain process and the study of related literature, a total of 3 dimensional layers and 13 sub-criteria were identified. The weight values were calculated by AHP, and finally engineering had the highest weight. The performance of BYD’ s battery recycling closed-loop supply chain is evaluated through empirical research on BYD enterprises, and a comprehensive score is derived. Based on the score, this study analyses BYD’s current deficiencies and the corresponding solutions. The objective of the study goes beyond helping NEVs companies improve their supply chains. We want to create a useful set of indicators that both businesses and governments can refer to regarding the recycling of power batteries. This will make it easier to come up with better policies and strategies, pushing the whole industry towards more eco-friendly supply chains and contributing to sustainable development.
