Description
Summary:This project is an analysis on the operational performance of a clinic in Alexandra Hospital and the optimization of its operational performance based on the statistical data collected. Mathematical modelling of the real system using queueing analysis is employed as the research method for the reasons that it is able to provide an accurate analytical solution and provides a beneficial insight into the system. At the same time, it is an inexpensive method which can be used readily to find optimal solutions instead of just providing an estimate of a performance for a given scenario. Since preventing delays in medical institutes is an important factor, the primary goal of this project is to find an optimal utilization of the available resources in the organisation so as to minimise delays. Given the financial constraints in many medical institutes, this project also aims to use mathematical queueing analysis as a means to reduce costs in the organisation.
