Description
Summary:This thesis reports the design and development of a transputer based vehicle simulator capable of a real-time display update rate of 24 frames per second. This involved the development of a prototype using off-the-shelf transputer modules to facilitate feasibility study and simulation of the system performance. The first stage development of the prototype served as a test bed for the various computer graphics processes implemented. Performance measurements of these computer graphics processes were collected and analysed to identify the processing and communication bottlenecks. Besides, processing efficiency due to the allocations of these processes to the various stages in the system was also examined.
