Description
Summary:A world class company is one which is able to achieve continuous competitiveness and stay at the industrial forefront. It is the industrial best benchmark for its outstanding business improvement process, superb financial performance, customer satisfaction & loyalty focus, employee relationship and supplier partnership. The aim of this dissertation is to study the success factors of a world class company. Research into the United States' Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award was done to understand what are these success factors for continuous business improvement. A "should-be" model of a world class company for the future fast changing business environment, was then built based on the Malcolm Baldrige Award criteria. Incorporating into the model are the international standard, ISO 9001:1994(E) Quality System Standard and British Standard, BS 7750:1992 Environmental Management System requirements, to strengthen the institutionalization aspects of the "should-be" model. Detailed discussions of Malcolm Baldrige National Award criteria, ISO 9001 Standard and BS 7750 Standard requirements are included in this report. Also included is an approach to developing a CIM strategy for a world class company by employing the model built.
