It is the industrial best benchmark for its outstanding business improvement process, superb financial performance, customer satisfaction & loyalty focus, employee relationship and supplier partnership. The aim of this dissertation is to study the success factors of a world class company. Research into the United States' Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award was done to understand what are these success factors for continuous business improvement. A "should-be" model of a world class company for the future fast changing business environment, was then built based on the Malcolm Baldrige Award criteria. Incorporating into the model are the international standard, ISO 9001:1994(E) Quality System Standard and British Standard, BS 7750:1992 Environmental Management System requirements, to strengthen the institutionalization aspects of the "should-be" model. Detailed discussions of Malcolm Baldrige National Award criteria, ISO 9001 Standard and BS 7750 Standard requirements are included in this report. Also included is an approach to developing a CIM strategy for a world class company by employing the model built.
