It showed social awareness and made connection with the masses with performances that they could relate to. In practice, Singapore Amateur Players displayed its uniqueness and outshined other theatre groups. Singapore Amateur Player was very much part of the society, especially so during the instability in the 50s. Its well-being and growth was deeply affected by the upheaval of the society. Thus, its organisation, artistic direction and performances etc were heavily reliant on the various aspects of society.
