Summary: | The purpose of this report is to find out how do individual and organizational factors affect job choice. This is achieved by examining the relationship between individual values, psychological needs, organizational values, organizational supplies, and organizational attractiveness. Limited research has been conducted to find out how these factors can affect the attractiveness of an organization to job seekers.
With these factors in mind, we hypothesize that 1a) individual values will be related to organizational attractiveness, 1b) psychological needs will be related to organizational attractiveness, 1c) organizational values will be related to organizational attractiveness, 1d) organizational supplies will be related to organizational attractiveness.
In order to produce data to support our hypotheses, an online survey was created to collect data from 174 undergraduates studying in Nanyang Business School (NBS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The survey focused on all the specializations in NBS’ Bachelor of Business program. It was found out that all four independent variables are positively correlated to the dependent variable.
We hope that this report can provide an in depth understanding on the factors that affect organizational attractiveness in the Singapore context and also encourage more research to be conducted in this area of study with different demographics and backgrounds. |
