This has become a trend for people to interact, communicate as well as learn in the virtual world. As the first Youth Olympics Games (YOG) will be held in Singapore in 2010, there is a need to provide useful information of Singapore to the YOG participants who are new to this place. In this project we seek to combine the idea of YOG and virtual world together to showcase a platform for interaction and also an information hub with the help of a game engine software named Unity3D. The aim of the project is to create a virtual YOG Co-Space that allows YOG participants to travel to different game venues in the virtual world and gain knowledge about YOG and places in Singapore. This is achieved by the implementation of two types of agents (bots) within the virtual world. To provide knowledge of the game venues, local agents are stationed at each of these venues to interact with the users. To provide personal services, personal agent, is attached to the player and can be called upon request. This agent provides the functions of taking in user’s request and returning information requested. In addition, the personal agent interfaces with modules like Natural Language Processing (NLP) and FALCON to process user’s queries and for the purpose of learning about the user respectively.
