Description
Summary:This thesis summarizes the theoretical and experimental work done in the Photonics Research Group, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, under the project entitled "Development of Er3+doped Fiber Lasers for Photonics Applications". We have successfully demonstrated fiber ring lasers with single-, multi-wavelength, and wavelength switchable fiber ring lasing using this technique. The characteristics of the developed fiber lasers, including the optical spectrum, the wavelength spacing, the wavelength-tunability, the active mode-locking, and the temporal property have been fully investigated.
