Description
Summary:I decided to base my project on cult science fiction film Blade Runner because of its visually driven narrative and unique art direction style, which was ahead of its time and inspired many other groundbreaking Science Fiction films. The idea of what it would be like to be a creative person in such a future and the explorative possibilities it entailed provided an interesting angle from which to approach this project. Blade Runner - Future Visuals is a project through which I will imagine myself as a visual artist & designer operating a studio, in a hypothetical future specific to the Blade Runner (1982) film universe. I will create art, illustration, design and facets of visual material relevant to the spirit of the film. This positioning is meant to be a springboard for creative interpretation and visual exploration and not a ‘by the numbers’ approach or attempt at defining a ‘right’ look for this imagined future. This is a project based on inspired fiction.
