Description
Summary:Ellman sulfinamide which was first introduced in 1997, is a compound that is highly popular for the synthesis of chiral compounds due to its versatility. In addition, it can be easily introduced on to give the Ellman imine and easily removed from the compound of interest after nucleophilic addition reaction to give the final desired product. However, the application of the Ellman sulfinamide to the synthesis of highly substituted α-amino acid has not yet been reported. Hence, in this project, several studies towards the synthesis of these highly substituted α-amino acids by first using the Ellman sulfinamide and next, via the formation of hydrazones will be presented.
