Introduction of solar energy and solar cell is the guide of the basic knowledge of the solar energy and solar cell. Through this introduction, having better understanding would be easier to analysis on the result. The second part of the report is to find out the effects of different factors to the solar cell efficiency. Using the PC1D software to simulated the possibility of different factors, and thus found out some standard value that would maximize the efficiency of the solar cell. A solar cell or photovoltaic cell is a device that can capture and converts light energy to electrical energy. Solar cell could be in termed of device that transforms solar energy, while photovoltaic cell is the device that transform unspecified light source.
Solar cell technology has now developed rapidly. The University of Delaware achieve 42.8% efficiency in solar cell technology in 2007. This technology would catalyse the solar cell industries rapidly developed. The benefit of solar cell is totally environmental friendly and pollution free. Sooner or later, the solar energy would pace up and become the world’s largest energy source.
This report basically involve in two main parts. The first part is the introduction of solar energy and solar cell. The second part is the PC1D software simulated result and analysis of the result.
