Summary: | The objective this project is to enhance the gaming experience of console games with the help of technology. The author aims to bring the gaming experience to a whole new level. In this project, a gaming environment platform is build for users to play with. Projector and camera are placed in an oblique position to detect the user’s movement. Homography calibration techniques will be used to undistort the images due to the oblique placements. When the users are playing the game, the system will detect hand movements as trigger events such as animations and special effects accordingly. Game play is base solely on the object detection and users are not required to wear any form of markers, and this greatly highly the robustness of the application.
A simple aquarium game has been build to demonstrate the usefulness of the system.
