Description
Summary:This report encompasses activities and tasks that were carried out by the author during his FYP on the development of a test-bed for condition health monitoring of a wind turbine gearbox, supervised by Assistant Professor Jaspreet Singh Dhupia. Prior to detailed report on the development phase of the test-bed, there will be an introduction to the motivation behind the project together with the project’s background and the objectives which the author aims to accomplish. In the development phase of the test-bed, the selection criteria of the individual components to simulate a wind turbine have been stated clearly and the reasons for their choice are also further elaborated. The detailed designs from the preliminary stage to the final design are also shown and explained thoroughly in this report. Certain features which were added to the test-bed to facilitate the condition health monitoring process are also emphasized in this report. It can be concluded that the designed test-bed has successfully simulated a wind turbine to allow condition health monitoring to be conducted on it and the features that were added also complements the overall design to enable condition health monitoring to be carried out with greater ease.
