Summary: | In this project, the author and her partner are expected to review the system and the working principle of the current shock test machines and patents. Having the knowledge and understanding of the current design and patents, the author is projected to design a shock test machine that is able to generate a half sine shock up to 20,000G meter per second square in 5 millisecond. The device targeted to test military electronics weighting 2 kilograms. Given the specific requirement for the shock test machine, many considerations have been contributed during the project.
Due to the high cost and limited resource of parts available, the project aim has been altered to design a shock test machine with acceleration level lower than 20,000 g’s.
The whole report covered the examination of the current models and followed by generating the author and her partner’s idea in designing the shock test machine. Calculation in every single parts of the shock test machine with supported drawings are given to get the whole understanding of the shock test machine system. Some analysis by simulation of 2D Working Model and ANSYS are also shown as a proof of the capacity of the design.
Even though the complete design has been generated, there are still a lot of spaces for improvement of the shock test machine. |
