Description
Summary:The motivation of the project was to develop a powerful and compact Terahertz system that would replace decade old Terahertz systems that were expensive and bulky. The Terahertz Parametric Oscillator (TPO) was one of it and it operated under room temperature, making it a popular Terahertz source. Coherent and strong Terahertz wave was generated by the TPO for spectroscopy and imaging experiments. To enable fast and reliable result of the Terahertz experiments, computer-controlled algorithms were programmed using LabVIEW to create a standalone executable program. The program was capable of displaying colour graph and tabulating data into table for user to view and analysis. The two experiments used the program and completed experiments in Terahertz spectroscopy and Terahertz imaging successfully. Their results were also discussed. Clear-cut instruction in using the program were also documented and two major blockages in the programming were explained how they were overcome. The report ended with a summary of the project and four recommendations were suggested for future works.
