Channel equalizer design for ADSL transceivers

Discrete multitone modulation is a multicarrier technique which makes efficient use of the channel, maximizing the throughput by sending different numbers of bits on different subchannels. In an ADSL discrete multitone receiver, a time-domain equalizer (TEQ) eliminates intersymbol interference (ISI) and intercarrier interference (ICI) by shortening the effective length of the channel impulse response.
