Discrete multitone modulation is a multicarrier technique which makes efficient use of the channel, maximizing the throughput by sending different numbers of bits on different subchannels. In an ADSL discrete multitone receiver, a time-domain equalizer (TEQ) eliminates intersymbol interference (ISI) and intercarrier interference (ICI) by shortening the effective length of the channel impulse response. TEQ design in this thesis focuses on ADSL downstream (higher data rate) transmission. MASTER OF ENGINEERING (EEE) 2008-09-17T09:43:59Z 2008-09-17T09:43:59Z 2005 2005 Thesis Zhu, P. (2005).
