For the last 15 years, 3D animation has evolved from short and simple clips to fully generated 3D movies with fantastic effects. The rapid development of technology has provided necessary tools to accelerate the manipulation of large amount of data thus fasten process of modeling and rendering for an animation. Replication of human body is one of the toughest challenges in 3D animation yet it is shown that current techniques can produce very realistic action scene of human motions. In fact, it is believed to be near perfect. However there is still an aspect that conventional animation technique cannot cover which is the physical interaction of objects in the animation. Some recent efforts focus on using Physics engines to generate the motion of objects to improve the realistic of animations. Although dynamic driven of simple objects like boxes and spheres can be easily achieved, the control for articulated figures such as human body proves to be very challenging. In this project, we try to find a possible way to animate a human figure by using conventional way of 3D animation, Motion Capture, and Physics engines to dynamically generate the movements. Although the result is preliminary, we hope to introduce a new method on which the perfection of Motion Capture in describe human movements and Physics laws can be combined to provide even more realistic animation.
