Description
Summary:The objectives of this dissertation are - first, to provide an understanding on the basic concepts of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); secondly, to identify the reallife issues and problems and the critical success factors (CSF) to ERP implementation in a chemical company. The global ERP implementation in a chemical company, The Dow Chemical Company, was used as a case study to provide the most appropriate working environment for the study. However, due to wide scope of the project, it was not possible in this dissertation to cover details of the entire implementation phase in The Dow Chemical Company and its subsidiaries. Hence the main focus of this dissertation will be on the implementation phase of one of its Asia Pacific subsidiary, Dow Chemical Pacific (Singapore) Private Limited, in Singapore. In this dissertation, references to "Dow" mean The Dow Chemical Company and its consolidated subsidiaries, while "Dow CP" mean Dow Chemical Pacific (Singapore) Private Limited.
