Reviews on recent literature related to views about digital youth and media, studies on youths’ media usage, aspects of the evolving media literacy and being media literate, and linking Bandura’s Theory of Self-Efficacy to critical media literacy, helped in a way to construct a framework that guided this research study. Further, with reference to Neely’s conceptual model, the research framework was constructed to guide the investigation and answer the research questions. Hypotheses among the key elements constructed in finding their relationships were made. A pilot instrument was designed and implemented for the quantitative research.
