Description
Summary:This report presents a novel method to synthesis of platinum and palladium alloy nano-dots via reducing mixed solution of Pt and Pd precursors by photo-irradiation in the presence of thiol molecules. The photosynthesis method is simple and efficient; as it could furnish a homogeneous reducing environment in solution without introducing in any additional reagent. The correlation of reduced Pd/Pt ratio versus different amounts of precursors added in mixed solution was investigated; and tunable Pd/Pt ratios from 1 to 6 were examined by Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy. Furthermore, self-assembly of Pd/Pt alloy nano-dots on graphene oxide, as a novel hybrid catalyst, through a secondary template of thiol was also discussed.
