Summary: | This study investigates the impact of a five day outdoor adventure leadership course on participants’ Leadership Self-Efficacy (LSE) at pre-course and post-course. The leadership course is based on Outdoor Adventure Education (OAE) theories which emphasized on experiential learning. Individual differences in terms of perceived course experience, personal motivation to lead (MTL) and personal adjustments (social and physical) during the course were also examined to understand the factors that can facilitate the change in LSE. Results showed significant increases in participants’ LSE at post-course and individual differences in their perception of course experience, MTL, and adjustments contributed to the prediction of participants’ LSE in varying degree. Implications of the study were further discussed. |
