Description
Summary:The medical world is facing a need of having home based rehabilitation for upper extremity. Home based rehabilitation system has advantages in providing more opportunity and convenience for stroke patients. However, numbers of rehabilitation professional has become the limitation. One of the ways to solve this problem is through Robot Aided Rehabilitation. Robot aided rehabilitation has been developed since 1950s. Currently, some of Robot aided Rehabilitation system for upper extremities face challenges to provide system which is low cost and portable, promotes active engagement and provides pinching and grasping movement as it is the basic and important movement for hands to do Activities of Daily Living. Facing these challenges, new Robot Aided Rehabilitation system with EEG and SEMG as the bio feedback has been developed. Advantage in using this bio-signal is to make the patient aware of wrong activation of muscle. Hence, patient can practice to activate the right muscles.
