Thus, the user needs to adapt to these machines, often resulting in miscommunication and undue anxiety. This project seeks to establish a balanced interaction environment between humans and machines by investigating into the theory of H2H communication to H2M interaction. Based on the two most influential H2H communication theories – Speech Act Theory and the Theory of Communicative Action, a systematic theoretical framework for the design of interactive machine systems will be formalized by integrating the best features of both theories.
