Summary:This study aims to design a Balanced Scorecard (BSC) for Private Educational Institutions in Singapore. The BSC can be used as a generic framework for performance assessment and strategic management for these organizations. The paper also provides a fresh perspective of incorporating business sustainability in the designed BSC. Design/methodology/approach: The methodology of this study includes literature review and empirical studies comprising of industry interviews and questionnaire surveys. Findings: The findings of this study include a BSC with detailed key performance indicators (KPIs) customized for Private Educational Institutions. Originality/value: This paper presents a BSC with its framework and detailed KPIs customized for use by Private Educational Institutions in Singapore.
