Description
Summary:With the various accounting scandals that took place during the past decade, and the new legislations and regulations that followed, the accounting profession has transformed, to say the least. As a result, accounting graduates are now required to have a significantly different set of skills, knowledge and abilities (attributes) as compared to the accounting graduates in the past. This study hence aims to gain a better understanding of the attributes currently required by the audit industry. It also explores the perceived differences between local and overseas accounting graduates in the said attributes. Finally, it measures the importance-performance gap between the attributes deemed important by the audit supervisors and the attributes possessed by the accounting graduates.
