Description
Summary:This paper presents the underlying influences and conceptual considerations that went into formulating my final year project: Diary. Sg. The work investigates the personas that present itself online and in the domestic space. It seeks to investigate the social phenomena of social media culture among young female Netizens. The significance for this project finds itself in the current rising trend of social media in Singapore. In 2010, 82% of Singaporean were on social networks and 55% on blogs (com score media). Singapore, a place known for conservatism and strict social controls (BBC news, 2011) is seeing an outward expression of the individual on the online space, this exhibits the changing representation and exploration of self in today’s digital age.
