Description
Summary:Consumption of energy has been increasing rapidly through centuries since Industrial Revolution which affect the environment in one way or another. Human has been looking for alternative environmental friendly source of energy and solar cell is one of the environment friendly technology which has attracted many researcher to explore its potential, there are many ongoing researches to improve the efficiency of the solar cell using better passivation method. The efficiency of the silicon solar cell has been improving since the 19th century and the usage of solar cell on application has increased such as in heating, power generation. This report is divided into two main parts. The report will start with brief history of solar cells and follow by the discussion on epitaxial solar cell and the advantage of the epitaxial solar cell. Moving on, PC1D program will be used for the simulation of the silicon solar cell using by isolating individual a few important factor such as the different type recombination and resistances. In order to have analysis of the result to have a better understanding on the performance of the solar cell The second part is to investigate the different effect on surface passivation by using annealing and buried contact on a solar cell and also to write a conference paper on the research.
