Summary:The Energy Market Authority, in partnership with Singapore Power, has launched the Intelligent Energy System Pilot (IES) Project in 2010. As the testing bed of IES project phase I, advanced metering infrastructure has been installed in NTU staff residences. To leverage the advance metering infrastructure, an Internet based consumer energy portal was designed and developed. The energy portal can provide improved electricity service (billing information and time of use pricing), better consumption monitoring, and strong influence on energy saving as well as increase in efficiency for the energy user in NTU. ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express and other open source software were utilized in the development of the portal. Detailed design and development processes are elaborated in this report.
