Description
Summary:Technological advances in the computing world have provided us with the means to perform jobs more efficiently and effectively, but at the same time, plagued the world with damage to our ecosystems and environment, while affecting our well-being at the same time. Green computing is one attempt to counteract this phenomenon, to slow down and even prevent our own eventual destruction. The approach is to gather and condense various sources of problems caused by computing generally and the solutions to them, providing the readers with an overview, which in turn should create awareness of the pressing issues caused by computing, and the potential recommendations towards greening computing as a whole. The end in mind is to educate the readers of the possible ways to tame this growing monster, and the part they could play, as an enthusiastic individual, or as an empathic organization towards the environment, proving that a green computer is not a myth and is an attainable target.
