Description
Summary:Globally, industries such as healthcare, finance and travel & tourism are exploiting technologies, particularly, Web 2.0 tools in engaging customers to connect with others reusing information, sharing multimedia and harness intelligence from the network of participation. This thesis seeks to study the implementation of Web 2.0 tools of 350 training consultancy firms from the United States and Asia Pacific and among soft and technical skill sets. The findings reveal that all four categories, namely, connecting others, reusing information, sharing multimedia and harnessing intelligence of nine Web 2.0 tools, namely, blog, social networking, wiki, RSS feeds, social tagging, podcast, vodcast, community and feedback tools have been adopted by 120 of the 350 training consultancy firms. Training consultancy firms from United Sates surpassed the Asia-Pacific training consultancy firms in a majority of the Web 2.0 tools. Each Web 2.0 tool has been examined on the adoption for internal and external communications and the use of each Web 2.0 tool is also illustrated.
