In recognition of this, more formal approaches of bringing it forth have been developed by elite nations. This approach has been termed Research & Development (R&D). It was not until 1979 that Singapore Government appreciated the strategic importance of R&D and embraced it as a potent economic turbine. As Singapore is still newly industrializing, the government will continue to be at the heels of technology. Therefore, making Singapore a good context for our research, which explains R&D as the subject-matter. |
